Seasonal Programs

Christmas Dream Dinner

This program started over a decade ago to provide a Christmas Dinner and time with others on Christmas Day for both: those who can’t afford to provide one themselves, or might be spending Christmas Day alone.

This year the meal will be prepared by the Armoury Chefs and the curbside pick up of the meals will be co-ordinated by Welcoming Arms and our partner The Salvation Army. We are grateful to the Aurora Community Cares Committee for co-ordinating this. We all hope that next year we can go back to our regular sit down meal.

Christmas Assistance Program

Welcoming Arms, in partnership with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, provides special Christmas assistance to Bridging the Gap visitors (families and individuals). Gifts consist of PC grocery gift cards, hot chocolate/tea/coffee, holiday cookies and chocolates. Providing our visitors with this type of gift package allows them the opportunity to shop with their families, selecting their own holiday groceries and gifts. We are also pleased to collaborate with the Aurora Minor Hockey Association to provide unique gender and age appropriate stockings for each of our visitors.
